Winter Fund
The Winter Fund at the Tanganyika Wildlife Foundation provides financial support for the care of Tanganyika’s animals during the off-season – when the park is closed to the public but the costs of caring for hundreds of animals continue every day.
Winter Fund Purpose
Because the park is closed to the public during the winter, this fund helps cover essential expenses during the winter months, including:
Daily nutrition and specialized diets for the animals
Veterinary care, medications, and preventative health
Animal keepers and expert husbandry staff
Heated habitats and utility costs during cold weather
Enrichment, training, and behavioral care
Critical conservation and breeding programs that continue year-round
Because Tanganyika Wildlife Park operates seasonally, admissions revenue drops significantly in the winter while animal care expenses remain constant. The Winter Fund helps bridge that gap so the Foundation can continue its mission of conservation, education, and exceptional animal welfare throughout the year.
