About the Foundation

The Tanganyika Wildlife Foundation is a 501(c)(3) on a mission to protect and preserve rare and endangered species by creating WOW moments that inspire the stewardship of animals.

Together, We Go Further

Our Mission

Tanganyika Wildlife Park serves as a sanctuary for those passionate about wildlife, offering intimate encounters with some of the planet’s most intriguing and endangered species.

We believe that connecting with wildlife is about more than just viewing from afar.  It is about creating meaningful “wow” moments and interactions that offer insights into the lives of these remarkable creatures, supporting global conservation efforts and creating a beyond unique place right here in our own backyard.

BOLDER IMPACT

Wild At Heart

The Wild at Heart Master Plan brings exciting new additions to Tanganyika—like a safari adventure, overnight stays by animal habitats, an immersive experience center, and a reimagined children’s zoo.

Stewardship

Tanganyika Wildlife Park, accredited by both Global Humane and the Zoological Association of America, exemplifies a deep commitment to animal stewardship both in human care and in the wild.

Since opening to the public in 2008, the park has focused on preserving rare and endangered species, establishing itself as a leading center for breeding programs aimed at ensuring the survival of these animals.

conservation

Tanganyika’s successful breeding efforts provide critical genetic lifelines for species such as giraffes, African penguins, cheetahs, clouded leopards, snow leopards, and eastern mountain bongos, among others.

These programs not only support global conservation efforts but also help educate and inspire the public about the importance of biodiversity.

partnerships

Beyond its breeding initiatives, Tanganyika partners with more than a dozen in situ conservation organizations worldwide to protect habitats and support species survival in their natural environments.

By fostering a stronger bond between people and wildlife, the park continues to advance its mission of preserving the natural world for generations to come.
