Celebrate the life and memory of someone special by creating a meaningful tribute in a place filled with life, learning and love for animals and our community.

Tanganyika offers unique and heartfelt ways to honor your loved one through memorials that not only commemorates their legacy, but also supports our community, wildlife conservation and education for generations to come.

We understand that this is a difficult time in your family’s life and we want to make this an easy process. We appreciate you choosing Tanganyika Foundation as a way to memorialize your loved one.

Once you have chosen us to be your designated or one of your designated memorials, the process is easy:

Your loved one’s full name
The designated family contact person and their contact information

Once you’ve provided this information, you may let family and friends know that memorial checks can be mailed to:

We are also working on adding a digital giving option soon.

When sending checks, please ensure the memo line includes your loved one’s name and “Memorial.”

Bricks & Pavers

4 x 8 Bricks – $250 – these will be installed by the end of this year and located by the Penguin Otter building.

8 x 8 Bricks – $500 – these will be installed by the end of this year and located by the Penguin Otter building.

Benches & Structures

A new bench will be purchased with a plaque engraved on the top front of the bench. This gift is $5,000. This can be installed in the fall of this year.

Shade Structure with bench – $25,000

Giraffe Donor Wall Statue

$1,000 for statement spots and $2,500 for signature spots. The donor wall will be 3 dimensional in the shape of an adult giraffe with the baby giraffe. Picture attached. The spots on the giraffes will be designated small (with a 2-inch engraved plaque) or large with a 4 inch engraved plaque). This will not be installed until middle of March 2026.

Adopt an Animal Area

Recognizing a loved one at their favorite animal area is another amazing way to pay tribute! This is a little different as it is an annual recognition. This means that with a small donation, your loved one’s name or your family’s name can be placed on a sign at that animal area, but each year, a renewal gift would need to be made for the name to continue on the sign.

Campaign Projects

For our capital campaign we also have a donor wall that will be inside the new Penguin Otter Swim Expansion room. There are five levels of permanent plaques $10,000 (three available), $5,000 (7 available), $2,500 (20 available) and $1,000 (40 available).

Unrestricted General Gift

This is where you simply designate the memorial gifts to the Foundation and those dollars go to helping the animals, support for our conservation efforts, helping out keepers for the animals for supplies, and overall support for the mission of Tanganyika Wildlife Foundation.

Endowment

Endowment for the Foundation has been set up to support the Foundation’s efforts in the future. This money is placed into an account that can only be touched with approval from the Board for major projects or repairs with the intention that it stays safely in an invested account growing funds for future large needs for the Foundation.
